Weekend trip to Matheran:)

This is one nearby hill station I had not visited and wanted to go…The Plan was on and off for weeks…Finally we decide and hit Matheran...I along with a few friends from my work place.

Like always, the Picnic was fun. Once we reached Matherean,we took a horse ride half way up the hill and then walked the rest of our way through the woods to see the view points. The fun part was sitting on the bank of the lake. (This wouldn’t be possible otherwise during monsoon). Of course it wasn’t the best time to visit a hill station, but we were lucky that it wasn’t really very hot as it had rained early in the day. This place is worth a visit during the monsoon. Walking through the woods, the lake view and the hill side view will be at its best and would definitely feel like heaven on earth.
For first timers please beware of the people who offer horse rides. The charges are way too high and we easily get duped. They project it as that’s the only mode of transportation to go up hill, which is not true. There are toy trains as well .

The Horse ride is not really advisable during this season. (Unless you prefer one)Maybe it is ok during the monsoon because walking through the woods might get a little messy because of the messy red mud. What’s more advisable is to take a toy train up to the hill. We get to see the best of views as the train goes on the edge of the hill and it works so much cheaper.
Posting a few Pictures...I’m glad we could make it there…Hoping I get to visit once more during the monsoon.

My baby sitting week:)

Like I already said ‘I wonder how Mom’s mange to be so dedicated with Kids’.

By the end of the week, I felt sleep deprived and totally exhausted...It literally showed on my face, and the very obvious fact that I kept yawing the whole day in office proved it…of course I was a little embarrassed with the yawing partL..I kinda used to be in a semi conscious state in my sleep, waking up every now and then, to check my watch, and would be wide awake before the alarm rings. The only thing in my mind was I had to get up early so that I don’t miss his school bus…It was more like I had sleepless nights. Phew!!!...

But with all this there were moments which made me jump with joy…like to see he had finished his lunch box, listen to stories from school, what happened at a friend’s birthday, How happy his friend was with the very cute gift he gave him, the pranks played in school, who stopped talking to whom(I had no idea who was who, but loved listening to it…took me back to my memories)no red marks in the dairy(yaayyyy!!!), a gold medal in the science quiz(It happened way before I was babysitting, but I was there to witness him jump around with the medal…I was beaming:-D)  and most importantly making him study……the lessons I read and the drawings I helped him with, kept reminding me of my school days…Loved it!!JJJJ

Baby sitting was like an adventure for me:-D…I wouldn’t mind trying it for a second time,I think I can manage pretty well…a nice tight sleep on the weekend was good enough  for me to think about going for it againJJJJ

Women’s Day :)

Every home, every heart, every feeling, every moment of happiness is incomplete without you, you complete the world with your presence. Wishing all you pretty women out there, a very happy women’s dayJ
…I received a lovely mail on Women this morning...Posting it here;
The Beauty Of A Woman
Is Not In The Clothes She May Wear,
Nor The Way She Combs Her Hair.
The Lovely Figure That She Carries,
Or Any Innocence Before She Marries
The Beauty Of A Woman
Is Seen In The Depth Of Her Eyes
The Place Where Her Love Resides.
Where The Doorway To Her Heart Is Seen
If You’re Invited In By Some Lovely Colleen.
The Beauty Of A Woman
Is Where Virtue And Passion Convene
Not In Any Place She May Have Been
And Not Things Superficial As A Facial Mole,
Her True Beauty Is Reflected In Her Soul.
The Beauty Of A Woman
Is The Care And Comfort Offered To Others
And Their Amazing Skill At Being Mothers
The Unselfish Loving And Giving She Shows
Her Beauty With Passing Years, Only Grows......

HAPPY WOMENS DAY!!!!...Lots of Love

Babysitting an 8 year old: My first day:):)

Now that’s something new!!!...That’s what I’m doing lately; for the next one week…it’s my first timeJ…Right from waking him up in the morning, to putting him to sleepJJ...That’s how my day begins and ends now... JJJ.

It’s one job which keeps you on your feet full time…Damm!!!...I had just heard of it and of course seen mamma do it, but never really felt the pressure...Until today!!!…

Managing one kept me on my feet right from the time we woke up at 5.30A.M… freshen up, make breakfast for us, make sure he eats fast, keep pushing him for bath, make him drink milk, pack his lunch box, dress him up and drop him to the bus stop…oofff!!..Its 7A.M already.OMG!!...the little time I get in between is for me to eat, take a shower and dress up for office…Oh and disaster strikes too!!!…the geyser stopped working and he is not ready to take a cold water shower….I’m on my feet again heating water in the stove and running from the kitchen to the bath room…Finally he was ready!!...we rush to the bus stop and as we wait, there I’m staring at my watch hoping I don’t miss my cab…Put him in the bus, rush back home, get ready, and I’m on time for my cabJJ…Thank God for that!!!!......time flies just like that!!!…

I wonder how Mamma managed all three of us...

The tougher part for me was making him study…I was a little worried if I could manage doing that. Considering the fact that I’m horrible at it...BUT, I did fairly well last nightJ.....At least made sure all his home work was done and managed to finish up the TO-DO list in the dairyJJ...I’m pretty convinced with that.

The only part where I really had to put a little effort was to bring him back home from the play ground last evening…my heart literally melts when he begs for 5 more minutes every time I call him home…You would want to let him play the whole evening when he makes that puppy face…I wouldn’t give up easily you seeJManaged to get him home cooking up stories…My evening was with Math, Social Studies, English literature and dictationJJ{I loved the dictation part the most, it’s fun when you are not the one writing down the spellingsJJ…I hated that part in school, wished I could just dictate…And here I’m dictating:-D:-D}.

I’m smiling end to end thinking about my Baby sitting…Until now it was fun!!!...I have more of this adventure coming my way…Hope the rest of the week goes well for meJJ
